With lush countryside, superb climate (rivalling that of the south coast) and miles of sandy coastline, this region is often described as one of the best kept secrets in France.

It is the ideal family holiday destination, 30 minutes from the coast, an hour from Poitiers and the major 'Futurescope' theme park, there is also the Puy du Fou a historical spectacular staged during the Summer months. The night skies in the Vendee can be pretty special as there is very little light pollution & August can bring lots of meteor showers.

For the more active, there are cycle routes and forests in close proximity and the Isle de Normoutier is only an hour away with the 'Oceanile' waterpark, not forgetting the safe sandy beaches. There are many Chateaux, Castles and Abbeys within an hours drive and there is a strong local link with Richard the Lionheart.
